Internet Directory creams off the best
(Maidenhead Advertiser, Friday April 30th 2004)
A new web-based service has been launched to feature the "cream of the crop" of businesses in Maidenhead and the Thames Valley.
The Quality Directory aims to provide residents with easy access to a wide range of services from decorators to solicitors.
But unlike other directories, entry to the Quality Directory will be controlled and only available to companies which come with recommendations.
Sebastian Brown, managing director, said "The aim of QD is to help local business and residents find each other. The added value of the Quality Directory is that each business comes with its own recommendations which can be referenced prior to the initial contact. For the consumer, this reduces the risk of buying from an unknown, untested supplier. For the local businessman it is a significant differentiator from the competition – local or not local."
Only companies that have two qualified references, relevant insurance and qualifications are considered for the directory, and only three companies per business sector are permitted.
Mr Brown said: "Although existing directories present consumers with hundreds of company listings, QD goes one step further by narrowing the field to the cream of the crop."
