Launch of web based service promoting local businesses
30th March 2004. Quality Directory launches web site for local businesses. QD provides fast and easy access to recommended businesses and services.
The aim of QD is to provide local residents with fast and easy access to a wide range of services from painters and decorators to tree surgeons to professional services such as solicitors and estate agents.
Sebastian Brown, Managing Director of QD explains - "The aim of QD is to become the first point of contact for the people of Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Rather than sticking a pin in the Yellow Pages and hoping for a good supplier, the Quality Directory will narrow that right down to 3 recommended companies per category per town. The important element is that it's only recommended companies that will be invited to be in the Directory and visitors to the site will be able to see these recommendations before contacting the company."
For businesses it provides another communication channel to reach out to their customers. Only companies that have two qualified references, relevant insurance and qualifications are considered for the Quality Directory. As only three companies per business sector are permitted it becomes a rapid route to local customers.
Brown continues - "The Directory will be heavily marketed in each local area with the aim of being the 'Directory of Choice' for people living in and around the Thames Valley. Although existing directories present consumers with hundreds of company listings, QD goes one step further by narrowing the field down to the cream of the crop."
